Brevard County Mugshots, Recent Arrests & Jail Records
The most direct way to look for a recent Brevard County booking is the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office inmate search. It can be searched by booking date, last name, first name, subject number or booking number, and individual booking records may include a booking photograph, custody status, charges, bond information and court-related identifiers.
For the best result, use the jail record to identify the correct person first, then use the Brevard County Clerk of Court system when you need the related criminal court case, hearing information or later case activity.
Search the official Brevard County inmate database
Use the Sheriff’s search when you are trying to find recent Brevard County mugshots, current custody information, a booking number, charges or bond details.
A jail booking record answers a different question from a court docket. Use both when you need current custody plus the legal case that follows the arrest.
How to Search Brevard County Recent Mugshots
The Sheriff’s inmate search is the primary official route for recent Brevard County booking information. The search form currently supports a date range, last name, first name, subject number and booking number.
What a Brevard County Booking Record Can Show
The exact fields vary by record, but the Sheriff’s booking-detail pages can contain information that helps distinguish one arrest from another and connect the jail entry with a criminal case.
Subject information
A record may display the subject’s name, subject number, age or date of birth, physical descriptors and a booking photograph.
Booking information
The detail page may show the booking number, booking date and whether the person is still shown in custody or has been released.
Charges and bonds
Charge descriptions, crime classification, bond type, bond amount and other case-related fields may appear when they are available in the jail system.
Court information
Some booking entries contain a case number, docket number, judge or court date. Use the Clerk’s court system to verify later changes.
Arresting agency
The booking can identify which law-enforcement agency made the arrest. A Brevard County jail booking is not limited to arrests made by sheriff’s deputies.
Booking history
A person may have more than one booking listed. Do not combine charges, bonds or release dates from separate booking events.

Bond, Bail and Release Information
Start with the individual booking record because bond conditions differ by charge and case. The Sheriff’s Jail FAQ says charge and bond information can also be requested by phone through the jail.
BCSO says a full bond amount may be paid by cashier’s check, certified check or money order payable to the Brevard County Clerk of Courts.
The Jail FAQ identifies TouchPay as a payment route and says depositors need the inmate’s CID number and full name.
BCSO states that it cannot recommend a bonding agency. If using an agent, confirm the terms and fees directly with that licensed provider.
Posting bond does not mean immediate release. BCSO advises that the release process can take several hours because required checks must be completed.
How to Follow a Brevard County Arrest Into Court Records
The Brevard County Clerk of Court provides public access through the Brevard Electronic Court Application, commonly called BECA. This is the better route when the question changes from “Was this person booked?” to “What is happening in the criminal case?”
Initial Appearance and Jail Court
BCSO provides a Jail Livestream for proceedings held in the jail courtroom when streaming is available. The Sheriff’s current schedule lists weekday initial proceedings at 1:15 p.m. and weekend or holiday proceedings at 9:30 a.m.; proceedings involving juveniles can delay the public stream.
Check the official Jail Livestream page before relying on a scheduled time because court operations can change.
Brevard County Jail Visitation
Family and friend visitation is conducted through Smart Communications. BCSO says normal face-to-face visits are not offered except for professional visits or visits specially approved by Jail Command.
Remote video visits
BCSO currently lists remote video visits in 15- or 30-minute sessions at $0.25 per minute. An account with Smart Communications is required.
Scheduling window
The Sheriff states that visits may be scheduled as far as seven days ahead and no less than 24 hours before the visit.
| Days | Time blocks |
|---|---|
| Seven days a week | 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.; 1:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.; 8:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m. |
Verify current visitation rules and hours with BCSO before scheduling or paying for a visit.
Inmate Mail, Phone Calls and Commissary
Regular inmate mail
BCSO routes ordinary inmate mail through Smart Communications. The inmate’s full name and inmate ID number must be printed on the envelope or postcard.

BCSO says ordinary mailed items are scanned for electronic viewing. Do not send irreplaceable originals because original documents sent through the standard mail process may be destroyed after processing.
Privileged legal mail
Attorney-generated confidential legal mail follows a different route and should be clearly identified as privileged/legal mail.

Inmate telephone system
BCSO uses Smart Communications for inmate telephone services. Account setup and funding instructions are available from the Sheriff’s visitation page.
Commissary deposits
The Jail FAQ identifies TouchPay for inmate-account funding and also provides an iCare route for approved commissary packages. Confirm the inmate identity before submitting money.
Inmate Property Release
Property pickup is not an all-day walk-in service. BCSO publishes specific property-release windows and requires the inmate to authorize the person receiving the property.
| Day | Time | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Tuesday | 8:15–9:30 a.m. | Valid photo ID and inmate pre-authorization |
| Wednesday | 12:15–1:30 p.m. | Valid photo ID and inmate pre-authorization |
| Thursday | 7:15–8:30 p.m. | Valid photo ID and inmate pre-authorization |
BCSO lists (321) 690-1531 for additional inmate-property questions. Confirm the schedule before traveling because facility procedures can change.
Searching for a Brevard County Warrant
A jail booking search and a warrant search are not the same thing. A person may have a warrant without currently appearing as a Brevard County Jail inmate.
BCSO directs users to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Public Access System for public wanted-person information. FDLE warns that the database should not be treated as confirmation that a warrant is currently active and advises users to verify a warrant with the reporting or local law-enforcement agency.
When You Need a Formal Brevard County Booking Record
The Sheriff’s online inmate database is useful for quick lookup, but BCSO states that it should not replace a formal public-records request when an official records request is appropriate.
BCSO records check
The Sheriff’s published public-records fee schedule currently lists a $2 per last-name inquiry for a local record of persons booked into the Brevard County Jail.
Processing and possible costs
BCSO says public-records requests require research and exemption review and may not be completed the same day. Additional reproduction or labor charges can apply depending on the request.
If You Cannot Find the Booking You Expected
Try a shorter name search, check spelling and search by booking date if you know roughly when the arrest occurred. If you have a booking or subject number, use it.
Booking, identification and data-entry steps may still be in progress. Recheck the Sheriff’s system later or call the Jail Complex for current inmate information.
Released means the displayed booking is no longer showing the person in custody. It does not tell you how the criminal case ultimately ended.
A jail record can display no court date even though court activity exists later. Search BECA using the case or docket number when one is available.
Check the current official jail and court records rather than assuming an older third-party page reflects present custody, charges or disposition.
Stop relying on the name alone. Compare date of birth or age, subject or booking number, booking date, case number and other available identifiers.
Before You Rely on a Mugshot or Arrest Record
- Confirm the record comes from the Brevard County Sheriff’s official inmate system.
- Match the correct person using more than a first and last name whenever possible.
- Check the booking date so an older arrest is not mistaken for a new one.
- Check whether the booking currently says in custody or released.
- Treat listed charges as arrest or booking information, not proof of guilt.
- Use the Brevard Clerk court search for later case information and court events.
- Recheck time-sensitive details such as bond, court dates and custody status before acting.
