Fastest search route

Start with the official Volusia County inmate search

The county says its inmate information search is for general public use and is updated approximately every 15 minutes. Search the jail system first if you need current custody information, then use the Clerk’s court search if you need the criminal case.

Before switching systems Save the person’s full name, booking number if shown, arrest date, charge wording and case number. These identifiers make it much easier to match the correct person across jail, police and court records.

A booking result, court case and police report are related records, but they are not interchangeable.

Which Official Daytona Arrest Search Should You Use?

There is no single record that answers every arrest question. Choose the system based on what you actually need to confirm.

How to Search Daytona Mugshots and Arrest Records

Start with Volusia County Corrections. Use the county inmate information route to check whether the person appears in current jail data.
Confirm you have the right person. Compare the full name and other available identifiers. Similar names can belong to different people, so avoid relying on a photo alone.
Record the booking and charge details. Save the booking number, arrest or booking date, charge description and any case identifier shown.
Check the Clerk’s criminal case search. A jail charge describes the booking event. The court record is the better source for later filings, hearings and disposition.
Request the police report only if you need incident-level detail. For an arrest handled by Daytona Beach Police, use the department’s records route and provide the case number, date and location when available.
Useful habit: save identifiers rather than screenshots alone. Names, booking numbers and case numbers make later verification far more reliable.

How to Find Recent Daytona Arrests and Bookings

For someone arrested recently in Daytona Beach, the county jail search is usually the first place to check. Volusia County states that its inmate information is updated approximately every 15 minutes, although an arrest may still take time to move through transportation, booking and data entry.

The Volusia County Clerk also provides an Arrest/Booking Download built from the county Jail Management System. The Clerk describes the download as 24-hour arrest data for people arrested and booked into the Branch Jail during the previous 24 hours.

Those daily files include initial booking, charge and violation information and remain available for roughly 14 calendar days. They are useful when you are researching a recent booking but should not be treated as the final court outcome.

The Clerk notes that the recent booking files are created by Volusia County from Jail Management System data rather than created or maintained by the Clerk itself. Some records can also be withheld because of statutory exemptions.

Where to Find Daytona Booking Photos

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office Public Information Office directs users seeking mugshots to the Volusia County Corrections Public Access system. That is the relevant official route for booking-photo information associated with county jail records.

If a photograph does not appear, do not assume there was no arrest. A record can be unavailable or restricted for legal, technical or privacy reasons, and publication rules can differ according to the record involved.

Do not identify someone from a photograph alone. Match the name and available booking identifiers before drawing conclusions about a person.

Daytona Beach Jail and Custody Information

County detainees may be held within the Volusia County Division of Corrections system. The county lists two facilities in the Daytona Beach area: the Volusia County Branch Jail and the Volusia County Correctional Facility.

Volusia County Branch Jail

1300 Red John Road

Daytona Beach, Florida 32120

Phone: 386-254-1555

The county says this facility houses pretrial inmates, state-sentenced inmates and certain medium- and high-custody nonsentenced males.

Volusia County Correctional Facility

1354 N. Indian Lake Road

Daytona Beach, Florida 32120

Phone: 386-254-1565

The county says this facility houses county-sentenced inmates, certain low- and medium-custody nonsentenced males and female inmates.

Booking, bonding, charges or arrest questions: Volusia County Corrections lists 386-254-1540 for these inquiries.

Check the Criminal Court Case After the Booking

A mugshot or booking entry shows what happened at intake. It does not tell you by itself whether prosecutors filed the same charge, changed it, declined it, or how the case ended.

The Volusia County Clerk of Circuit Court provides a Case Inquiry for criminal records. Searches can be performed using a name or case number, and many publicly available document images can be displayed through the case docket.

Some cases and documents are confidential, sealed or otherwise unavailable online. The Clerk specifically notes that its web information is for general informational use and that official court records are those maintained by the Clerk’s Office.

Booking charge

Shows the charge information connected with jail intake at that point in time.

Court filing

Shows what entered the court system and gives the case number used for later tracking.

Disposition

Use the court record to determine the later status or outcome rather than assuming the arrest allegation remained unchanged.

How to Get a Daytona Beach Arrest Report

If the arrest or incident was handled by the Daytona Beach Police Department, its Records Unit maintains arrest reports, offense reports, supplemental reports and other police records.

The department directs public-record requests to its online request process. When making a request, provide as much identifying information as possible, particularly the case number, date, location and type of incident.

Daytona Beach Police also states that arrest reports must be filed through the Florida 7th Circuit State Attorney’s Office before they can be released to the public. A newly created arrest report therefore may not be immediately available.

When to Use the Volusia Sheriff’s Office Records Section

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office is not the same agency as the Volusia County Division of Corrections. The Corrections division itself tells visitors to contact the Sheriff’s Office for services such as arrest records, while jail custody information remains with Corrections.

The Sheriff’s Records Section maintains incident reports, calls for service and local record checks generated by the Sheriff’s Office. Its central records telephone number is 386-736-5962.

A Daytona Beach city incident may belong to Daytona Beach Police rather than the Sheriff’s Office. Check which agency handled the event before submitting a records request.

Bond, First Appearance and Release Information

Volusia County directs people who need to post bond or attend a First Appearance hearing to the Volusia County Branch Jail. The Branch Jail Booking Office can provide bond information at 386-254-1555 and the county says the Booking Office operates 24 hours a day.

The county states that a bond may be posted in cash or through a bondsman. Before paying anyone who contacts you unexpectedly, independently verify the custody and bond information through the official jail.

Bond-payment scam warning: Volusia County Corrections warns that jail staff will not solicit a bond payment. The county specifically cautions against callers or texters demanding transfers through services such as Zelle, PayPal, Cash App or Bitcoin while claiming to be jail staff or bondsmen.

Volusia County also states that inmates generally are not released between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.. The published exception is when a responsible party is on site to transport the person away from Corrections property and checks in with Control before release.

Visiting Someone in Volusia County Corrections

Visitation rules are maintained by Volusia County Corrections and can change independently from an inmate’s booking record. Check the current visitation page before leaving home.

  • Visitors age 18 and older must present photo identification showing a date of birth.
  • Student identification cards are not accepted under the published on-site rules.
  • Electronic devices such as phones, tablets and cameras are prohibited in the visitation building.
  • Large bags are not permitted inside the visitation building.

What If You Cannot Find the Daytona Arrest Record?

Arrest was very recent

Allow time for transportation, booking and data entry. Recheck the county inmate search later rather than assuming the absence of a result means no arrest occurred.

Person was released

A current-custody search may no longer answer your question. Check recent booking downloads and then use the Clerk’s criminal case search.

No mugshot appears

Search using identifying booking information instead. A photo can be unavailable even when another public record exists.

No court case appears

A new arrest can precede court filing or indexing. Recheck later and confirm the spelling, date of birth and case or booking number if available.

Wrong agency

Determine whether Daytona Beach Police, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office or another law-enforcement agency handled the incident before requesting a report.

Need official proof

Do not rely on a screenshot from an informational website. Request the appropriate record or certified court document from the responsible government office.

How to Avoid Matching the Wrong Person

Daytona and Volusia County records can contain people with the same or similar names. Treat a name-only match as incomplete until other identifiers support it.

  • Compare the full legal name and middle name or initial.
  • Check the booking or arrest date.
  • Use a booking number or court case number whenever available.
  • Compare the listed agency and jurisdiction.
  • Use the court record before describing the final outcome of a charge.
  • Do not assume an old mugshot reflects current custody or a current criminal case.
