Find Miami-Dade Mugshots, Booking Details and Current Jail Information
For a current Miami-Dade County booking or mugshot, start with the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department inmate search. The official results can show the person’s name, date of birth, custody location, charges, bond amount, jail number, booking date and time, and a mugshot when available.
Use the jail lookup for current custody information, then use the Miami-Dade Clerk of the Court and Comptroller criminal search when you need to follow the related felony or misdemeanor case. Those systems answer different questions: a jail record shows custody and booking information, while the court record is the better place to check the case and later disposition.
Start with the official Miami-Dade inmate search
The MDCR search is the quickest official route when your goal is to find someone who is currently in Miami-Dade County custody and view the booking information associated with that custody record.
County websites can change interface details. If a direct tool does not load, use the main Miami-Dade Corrections page and choose the inmate-search service.
How to Search Miami-Dade FL Mugshots
Miami-Dade County provides an online in-custody search through its Corrections and Rehabilitation Department. The county says the search can be performed with the person’s last name followed by a first initial or first name.
What the Official Miami-Dade Inmate Result Can Show
The county’s in-custody service describes a result set that includes custody and booking fields rather than just a photograph. This makes the official lookup more useful than a standalone mugshot image because it provides context for the current detention record.
| Field | What it helps you confirm |
|---|---|
| Name | Whether the record appears to match the person you searched. |
| Date of birth | A key identity check when multiple people have similar names. |
| Custody location | Which Miami-Dade detention facility currently holds the person. |
| Charges | The charge information attached to the custody record; this is not the same as a conviction. |
| Bond amount | Whether a bond amount is displayed for the current custody entry. |
| Jail number | A useful identifier for follow-up with Corrections and other record searches. |
| Booking date and time | When the listed jail booking occurred. |
| Mugshot | The booking photograph associated with the displayed in-custody record when one is available. |
How to Check Today’s or Recent Miami-Dade Bookings
For “today” or “recent booking” searches, use the live county inmate system and look at the booking date and booking time in the returned record. This page does not republish a separate live booking feed, so the official county result should be treated as the current source for in-custody status.
If the person appears
Check the booking date, location, charges, bond and jail number. Save the identifiers you need before leaving the page because they are useful for court or telephone follow-up.
If the person does not appear
A missing result does not by itself explain what happened. The person may have been released, transferred, booked under information different from what you entered, or may not be in Miami-Dade Corrections custody.
Verify the Person Before Using a Mugshot or Arrest Record
Name-only matching is risky, especially with common names. Before treating a Miami-Dade booking result as belonging to a specific person, compare as many identifiers as the official record provides.
- Compare full name and spelling.
- Check date of birth.
- Check the jail number.
- Review the booking date and time.
- Confirm the custody facility.
- Compare case information through the Clerk when appropriate.
Miami-Dade Criminal Court Records After a Booking
The Miami-Dade Clerk of the Court and Comptroller provides an online criminal case search for felony and misdemeanor cases. Use this system when the question has moved beyond “Is this person in jail?” to “What is happening with the court case?”
Use the Miami-Dade Corrections inmate search.
The Clerk provides criminal-history disposition and certified-copy request options for local criminal cases.
The Clerk states that certified criminal-history disposition letters can be requested online, by mail or in person. For mailed requests, the Clerk asks for details such as the defendant’s name, case number, case year and date of birth. Certified copies are listed at $7, and an additional $2 per year, per name search fee applies when the case year or number is unknown.
Bond, Release and Custody Questions
A bond amount displayed in an inmate search is part of the custody record, but it should not be treated as a guarantee of immediate release. Release can depend on the case, court orders, holds and completion of the facility’s release process.
Bond shown online
Record the amount and the jail number, then verify current requirements before making financial arrangements.
Release status
Miami-Dade Corrections lists a dedicated release contact at 786-263-5360.
Pretrial services
The department lists its Pretrial Services Bureau at 786-263-4100 and a separate reporting/check-in line at 786-263-6700.
For case-specific legal questions about bond conditions, hearings or release orders, use the court record and obtain legal advice when necessary. Jail staff can explain custody and department procedures but should not be expected to provide legal advice.
Miami-Dade Detention Facilities Listed by Corrections
The inmate search can identify the custody location. Miami-Dade Corrections currently lists the following major detention facilities on its official contact pages.
| Facility | Address | Phone |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-Trial Detention Center | 1321 NW 13th St, Miami, FL 33125 | 786-263-4110 |
| Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center | 7000 NW 41st St, Miami, FL 33166 | 786-263-5341 |
| Metro West Detention Center | 13850 NW 41st St, Miami, FL 33178 | 786-263-5110 |
Confirm the current custody location before traveling to a facility. A person’s housing location can change after booking or during the life of a case.
Request Miami-Dade Corrections Records
If the online inmate result does not provide the record you need, Miami-Dade Corrections offers a public-record request process. The department states that anyone may request Corrections and Rehabilitation records through its public-record system.
Information to provide
- Contact information when appropriate.
- The subject of the request, such as an inmate name or type of record.
- Enough detail to identify the requested record or incident.
Important distinction
Miami-Dade Corrections specifically directs requests for records about arrests to the appropriate law-enforcement record source rather than treating every arrest record as a Corrections record.
Published Corrections copy fees
The department currently lists single-sided copies at 15 cents per page, double-sided copies at 20 cents, certified copies at $1 per page and color copies at $1 per page. A service charge may apply when research or processing takes more than 20 minutes, and the department may require advance partial payment.
Visitation, Contact and Inmate Money
Once you have confirmed the correct inmate and facility, use the Miami-Dade Corrections service pages for visitation, messaging, phone and trust-account information. Do not rely on hours or vendor instructions copied from an old third-party page because facility procedures can change.
When the Miami-Dade Mugshot or Booking Search Does Not Work
Check spelling, use at least the required name characters, try the first initial, and make sure you are searching Miami-Dade County rather than the City of Miami or another Florida jurisdiction.
Use the rest of the official custody record first. A missing image should not be treated as proof that no booking exists.
The in-custody search is designed around current custody. Move to the Clerk’s criminal case search or the appropriate public-record request route when researching an older case.
Stop and compare date of birth, jail number, booking date and court information. Do not reuse a mugshot based only on a similar name.
Use the Clerk for certified criminal case documents or the responsible county department for the specific public record.
