Find Recent Volusia County Mugshots, Bookings and Jail Records
For a current Volusia County booking, start with the county’s inmate information system. It is the most useful route for checking whether a person is presently in county custody, locating a booking number and reviewing available booking information. Volusia County says the public inmate data is refreshed about every 15 minutes.
The Volusia Sheriff’s Office does not operate the county jail. Jail custody, inmate information, bond processing and visitation are handled by the Volusia County Division of Corrections. The Sheriff’s Office separately handles law-enforcement records generated by that agency.
Start with the current inmate record
If your goal is to find a recent Volusia County mugshot or booking, use the county inmate search first. For arrests from the previous 24 hours, the Clerk also publishes downloadable arrest/booking reports created from the county Jail Management System.
Write down the person’s booking number once you find the correct record. That number is useful for visitation scheduling, inmate-account transactions, mail and calls to the jail about booking or bond information.
Use the jail record for custody and booking details, then use the Clerk’s court record system for later case activity and disposition.
Recent Volusia County Bookings and Mugshots
Volusia County maintains a public inmate information system for people processed through its corrections facilities. The Sheriff’s Office also directs people seeking mugshots to the county Corrections public-access system rather than to a Sheriff-operated jail database.
Current inmate information
Use the county inmate search when you need to determine whether someone is currently listed in Volusia County custody or need the booking number associated with the jail record.
Previous 24-hour arrests
The Volusia County Clerk provides daily arrest/booking files containing initial booking, charge and violation information supplied from the county Jail Management System. The Clerk says these daily files remain downloadable for approximately 14 calendar days.

Volusia County Jail Facilities
Volusia County Corrections operates two primary facilities in Daytona Beach. The county describes the Branch Jail as housing pretrial, state-sentenced and medium- or high-custody nonsentenced male inmates. The Correctional Facility houses county-sentenced inmates, low- and medium-custody nonsentenced males and female inmates.
| Facility | Address | Phone | Common reason to contact |

Bond, First Appearance and Release
Where bond is handled
Volusia County directs people posting bond or attending a First Appearance hearing to the Branch Jail. The county states that anyone may post bond in cash or through a bondsman.
The Branch Jail Booking Office is open 24 hours a day for bond information. Call 386-254-1555 before making a trip if you need to verify the current bond status.
What happens at First Appearance
People who remain in custody generally receive a First Appearance before a judge within a day of jail admission. The judge may address probable cause and can change the bond, maintain it, order release on recognizance or use another authorized pretrial release option.
The county lists First Appearance sessions at 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. on weekends and holidays. Court schedules can change, so verify before attending.
Use Court Records to Find What Happened After the Arrest
A jail record tells you about custody and booking. It does not necessarily tell you how the prosecution ended. For arraignments, hearings, later court dates, filed documents and available disposition information, use the Volusia County Clerk of Circuit Court.
Use the Clerk’s daily arrest/booking downloads.
Use the Clerk’s court record search for available criminal case information.
Use the Volusia Sheriff’s Office public-record route for qualifying records maintained by that agency.
Volusia County Jail Visitation
On-site visitation is conducted at the Visitation Center at 1300A Red John Drive, next to the Branch Jail. Visits are by appointment, and the county requires the inmate’s six-digit booking number to schedule.
Schedule ahead
Appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance and by 9 p.m. before the requested visit date. The county says appointments may be made up to two weeks ahead.
Bring identification
Visitors age 18 and older need photo identification displaying a date of birth. Student identification cards are not accepted as adult visitor ID.
Arrive early
Visitors should check in 10 minutes before the appointment. The county says visitors are not admitted after their scheduled visitation period begins.

- Visits are restricted during the initial 72 hours of incarceration unless approved by the Operations Supervisor.
- Visitors must follow the county dress and conduct rules.
Scheduling is available through IC Solutions or by calling 888-646-9437. For local visitation assistance, Volusia County lists 386-254-1555 during designated Tuesday-through-Saturday operator hours.
Inmate Money, Commissary and Mail
Before sending money or mail, confirm the inmate’s current booking number and the name under which the person was booked. This reduces the risk of a payment or letter being delayed or returned.
Inmate account
Money held at intake is placed in the inmate’s account and may be used for approved jail expenses and commissary purchases. Volusia County lists electronic deposit options as well as approved check or money-order methods in its inmate account instructions.
Third-party payment services can charge convenience fees. Verify the current provider and required facility information on the county page before submitting money.
Mail basics
Mail must be addressed to a specific inmate using the person’s incarceration name and matching booking number. The sender must include a return address, and mail must arrive through recognized delivery channels rather than being hand delivered.
Mail for someone no longer in county custody may be returned unopened.

Property, Phone Calls and Other Inmate Communication
Property release
An inmate who wants property released must request a Property Release Form. Volusia County advises people to call 386-254-1555 to confirm approval before arriving for pickup.
Approved property is held for pickup for up to five days, proper ID is required, and the county says property pickup is available 24/7.
Calls and messages
You cannot call the housing area and be connected directly to an inmate. The county states inmates can communicate through approved calling, messaging, mail and visitation systems.
Communication is restricted during the first 72 hours because of classification, housing changes, court appearances and medical evaluations.
Need an Arrest Report Instead of a Jail Record?
A jail booking and an arresting-agency report are different records. If the Volusia Sheriff’s Office made or documented the arrest, its Records Section is the central repository for incident and Florida traffic crash reports generated by the Sheriff’s Office.

For an incident handled by a municipal police department rather than VSO, the appropriate city police department may be the record custodian.
What to Do When You Cannot Find a Volusia County Booking
Processing may not be complete yet. Recheck the official inmate system after a reasonable interval; the county says its public inmate information is updated about every 15 minutes.
The person may have been released, transferred, booked elsewhere or not placed into Volusia County Corrections custody. Check the Clerk’s recent booking reports and court records.
Call the Branch Jail Booking Office. Bond information can change following First Appearance or another court order.
Do not rely on the mugshot or booking page. Search the Volusia County Clerk’s criminal case records for later court activity.
Stop and verify identifying details before sharing or acting on the record. Similar names are not enough to establish identity.
