Florida Volusia Mugshots, Recent Bookings & Arrest Records

The most direct way to check a Volusia County mugshot or recent jail booking is the county’s public inmate information system. It can help you confirm a booking record, current custody information and a booking number before you move on to court records or bond information.

Volusia County Corrections—not the Volusia Sheriff’s Office—operates the county jail facilities. The Sheriff’s Office nevertheless links residents to the county inmate system and states that mug shots are available through the Volusia County Corrections public-access site.

Arrest does not mean conviction. A mugshot, jail booking or criminal charge shows that a person was processed in connection with an alleged offense. Use the Clerk of Circuit Court’s case records to check what happened after the booking.

Use the official Volusia County inmate search first

Search the county system before relying on a third-party mugshot page. The county states that its inmate information is updated about every 15 minutes, making it the best starting point for current jail status.

What to write down Save the exact booked name, six-digit booking number, booking date and charge description. Those details make it much easier to compare the jail record with the court case.

Recent Volusia County Arrests and 24-Hour Booking Reports

The Volusia County Clerk provides an Arrest/Booking Download based on data supplied by the county Jail Management System. According to the Clerk, each daily report contains 24-hour arrest data for people arrested and booked into the Branch Jail during the previous 24 hours.

The reports include initial booking, charge and violation information. Daily files are generally kept available for about 14 calendar days, so they are useful for checking recent booking activity even when you do not yet know a case number.

The Clerk explains that these arrest/booking files are created from county Jail Management System data and are not created or maintained as Clerk court records. Use Case Inquiry when you need the court record rather than the booking feed.
Read the record correctly

What Volusia Booking Charges Mean

Booking charge

A booking charge describes the allegation entered during jail processing. It can be useful for identifying the arrest event, but the wording may not reflect the final charge filed or the eventual case outcome.

Court case

The Clerk of Circuit Court maintains the criminal court record. That is the better place to check later hearings, docket activity and disposition information that may occur after the booking.

Bond information

Bond shown around the time of booking can change through judicial action or case developments. Call the Branch Jail Booking Office when current bond status matters.

Custody status

A historical mugshot can remain online after a person is released. Check the current inmate system instead of treating the continued existence of a booking image as evidence of present custody.

Do not use a mugshot as a guilt finding. A person may later have charges reduced, dismissed, resolved differently or be acquitted. The booking image by itself does not show the final result.

Which Volusia County Jail Holds the Inmate?

Volusia County Corrections operates two county jail facilities in the Daytona Beach area. The Branch Jail and Correctional Facility serve different custody populations, so the correct location can matter for release, visitation and other jail-related tasks.

How to Check Bond After a Volusia County Arrest

The county says current bond information is available from the Branch Jail Booking Office. The Booking Office operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Bond / booking

386-254-1540 — listed by Volusia County for booking, bonding, charges and arrest questions.

Branch Jail

386-254-1555 — county jail contact and the facility used for posting bond and First Appearance.

Payment route

The county states that bond may be posted in cash or through a bondsman. Confirm the current amount and conditions before arranging payment.

Scam warning: Volusia County Corrections warns that jail staff do not solicit bond payments. Calls or texts demanding transfers through services such as Zelle, PayPal, Cash App or cryptocurrency should be treated cautiously and verified directly with the jail.
Release timing

What Happens After Bond or a Release Order?

Release is not necessarily immediate after the legal authority to release a person is received. Volusia County says the paperwork process can take roughly two to four hours depending on the circumstances.

The county also states that inmates generally are not released between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. An exception is possible when a responsible party is on site to provide transportation and checks in with Control before release.

All female inmates are released from the Correctional Facility. Release information is also displayed on screens in the lobbies of the correctional buildings.
After the booking

Search the Volusia County Criminal Court Case

A booking record answers jail questions; the Clerk’s case system answers court questions. Volusia County’s Clerk allows criminal case searches by name or case number and makes many public docket documents available online, subject to confidentiality rules and access restrictions.

Use Case Inquiry for the docket

Search by the person’s name or case number to review available public criminal-case details. Sealed, expunged or otherwise confidential records are not available to the general public.

Allow time for the case to appear

Volusia County’s corrections FAQ says that after First Appearance it typically takes one to two days for the Clerk to process future court dates.

For the strongest identity match, compare the booked name, offense information and case timing rather than assuming the first same-name court result belongs to the person in the mugshot.
Visiting an inmate

Volusia County Jail Visitation Rules

Volusia County uses appointment-based visitation. You need the inmate’s six-digit booking number before scheduling, which is another reason to save the booking number from the official inmate search.

Schedule

  • Visits are Tuesday through Saturday.
  • Appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
  • The county allows scheduling up to two weeks ahead.
  • Visitors should check in 10 minutes before the session.

Identification and visitors

  • Visitors age 18 or older need photo ID showing date of birth.
  • Student identification is not accepted.
  • Visitors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Juveniles need qualifying identity documentation.
The Visitation Center is at 1300A Red John Drive, next to the Branch Jail. Volusia County says visits are non-contact and conducted through its visitation system.
Cell phones, tablets, cameras and other recording devices are prohibited in the visitation building. The county also enforces a dress and conduct policy.
Family and inmate support

Inmate Money, Commissary, Calls and Mail

Booking information is also useful when sending money or mail because county procedures use the inmate’s booked name and booking number. Confirm both before sending anything.

Inmate accounts

Volusia County provides approved methods for depositing funds into inmate accounts. Current options and vendor instructions should be checked on the county Corrections site before making a payment.

Commissary

Inmates may use account funds for permitted commissary purchases. Fees, vendors and available purchase methods can change, so use the county’s current account instructions.

Calls and messages

Family members cannot simply call the jail and ask to be connected to an inmate. County guidance says inmates communicate through approved calling, messaging, mail and visitation systems.

Communications and visits can be restricted during the first 72 hours of incarceration while classification, housing, court and medical processes are underway.
Troubleshooting

What If You Cannot Find the Volusia Mugshot or Booking?

No search result

Recheck spelling, middle names and aliases. If the arrest was very recent, allow time for processing and try the county inmate search again.

Need current custody

Call the Corrections booking/charges line at 386-254-1540 rather than relying on an older arrest-photo page.

Need court outcome

Move to the Clerk’s Case Inquiry. A mugshot or booking page does not show the complete court history.

Need arrest report

Use the Volusia Sheriff’s Office public-records process when the Sheriff’s Office created the incident or arrest record. Municipal police departments may hold records for arrests they handled.

Possible wrong person

Stop relying on name alone. Compare the booking number, age or date information, middle name, booking date and court record before drawing a conclusion.

Public records

When You Need More Than the Mugshot

The public inmate system is useful for jail information, but an arrest report, incident report or certified court document comes from a different record keeper. Choosing the correct office avoids sending a request to the wrong agency.
