Hillsborough Jail Mugshots, Today’s Bookings & Arrest Records
For a current Hillsborough County jail mugshot or booking record, start with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Arrest Inquiry. The public tool can be searched by booking number, name, booking date, release date and other identifiers, and detailed records can include the booking photo, charges, bond information and custody status.
Search the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s jail database first
If you are looking for a person booked today, search the official HCSO portal with the person’s first and last name. HCSO states that new arrest records may not appear in general listings during the first 24 hours, although a direct name search can still locate the person after the record reaches the jail system.
The jail record answers the booking/custody question; the Clerk record is the better route for the later court case and disposition.
How to Find Hillsborough Mugshots Today
The HCSO Arrest Inquiry is the direct county source for current jail and recent arrest information. Its search form accepts a booking number, name, booking date, release date, date of birth and other filters.
What a Hillsborough Jail Booking Record Can Show
The public Arrest Inquiry is more than a mugshot gallery. A detailed booking entry can contain identifying information, arrest and booking dates, the arresting agency, charge information, bond information and release data.
| Record item | What it helps you confirm |
|---|---|
| Booking photograph | Helps distinguish similarly named records, but should not be treated as evidence of guilt. |
| Booking number | A strong identifier for the specific jail intake event and useful for jail-related services. |
| Booking / arrest date | Shows when the current arrest and intake occurred. |
| Charge information | Shows the allegations associated with that booking at the time the sheriff record was produced. |
| Bond information | Shows bond details recorded in the jail system; conditions can change through court action. |
| Release information | Helps determine whether a person has already been released and the recorded release status. |
| Court case reference | When available, gives you a better starting point for checking the filed case with the Clerk. |
Why a New Hillsborough Arrest May Not Show Yet
If you know someone was arrested but cannot find the booking in a general list, timing may be the reason. HCSO states that new arrest records do not appear in general listings during the first 24 hours after arrest.
Search with the person’s first and last name instead of depending on general recent-arrest listings.
Add date of birth or use a known booking number to reduce mistaken identity.
Do not assume a visible record means current incarceration. HCSO says public listings can remain available for 90 days after release.
Confirm the arrest occurred in Hillsborough County and consider whether the person is now in another county, state or federal custody system.
Search the Clerk’s HOVER system because the jail record is not the authoritative source for the final court disposition.
Hillsborough County Jail Locations
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Department of Detention Services operates the county jail system. HCSO identifies Orient Road Jail as the primary receiving facility for booking and processing, while Falkenburg Road Jail is another major detention facility.
Orient Road Jail
1201 Orient Road

HCSO identifies this facility as the primary receiving location and central booking operation for people taken into custody by numerous law-enforcement agencies in Hillsborough County.

How to Check Bond and Release Status
The arrest record can show recorded bond information and whether a person remains in custody or has been released. Because a judge can change conditions or bond status, use the latest jail record and the corresponding court case when the timing matters.
1. Start with HCSO
Open the person’s detailed booking record and note the booking number, listed charges, bond entries and release status.
2. Record the case number
If the booking page includes a court case reference, save it. It can make the Clerk search much faster.
3. Verify court action
Use HOVER to see the filed case, status, docket activity and non-confidential court records available for public viewing.
Use HOVER for the Criminal Court Case and Final Disposition
The Hillsborough County Clerk of Court and Comptroller operates HOVER, the county’s online court-record system. It provides public access to many court indexes, dockets and non-confidential document images.
HOVER supports searches by case number, citation number, party or business name and date/court/case type. For criminal matters, the most reliable transition from jail record to court record is usually the case number or the defendant’s correctly spelled name.
Current Hillsborough Jail Video Visitation
HCSO’s current inmate communication guidance says video visitation is generally available after an inmate is assigned to a housing area. Typical video-visitation hours are 9:30 a.m. to 8:45 p.m.
HCSO states that each inmate is afforded two hours of prescheduled no-cost video visitation per week. On-demand video sessions may also be available for a fee.

Money, Commissary, Phone Calls and Mail
Inmate account deposits
HCSO uses TouchPay for deposits into inmate accounts. The agency’s instructions require the inmate’s name and booking number and identify Hillsborough County’s facility locator number as 233619.
Deposit kiosks are listed in the public lobbies of the Orient Road and Falkenburg Road jails, with online and telephone payment routes also available.
Telephone services
HCSO says new inmates in Central Booking may make calls for bail arrangements and family communication. General-population telephone services are typically available between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Inmate calls are outgoing. The sheriff’s current communication page directs users to SmartInmate for communication-account information.
Current personal mail address
HCSO says that, since October 28, 2025, ordinary personal inmate mail must be addressed to the processing center rather than directly to a Hillsborough jail:
(Inmate Name) – (Inmate Booking Number)
c/o Mail Processing Center
PO Box 9115
Seminole, FL 33775-9115
Personal mail sent directly to an HCSO jail facility may be returned. Legal and privileged mail follows separate facility-specific rules, so attorneys and other professional senders should use HCSO’s current instructions.
What to Do if a Hillsborough Arrest Record Is Wrong
HCSO provides separate procedures for factual errors, identity-theft concerns and sealed or expunged arrest records. These routes are different from asking a private website to change a page.
For issues such as an incorrect arrest date or transposed characters, HCSO directs users to its Error Correction Form and Intake Operations Bureau process.
If the record appears because someone else used your identity, HCSO directs affected individuals to complete its Identity Theft process, including identity verification.
HCSO refers users to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for Florida sealing and expungement information.
Use the Hillsborough County Clerk because the sheriff’s arrest page does not establish whether charges were filed, dismissed, reduced or resulted in conviction or acquittal.
Verify the Person Before Using a Mugshot or Booking Record
A name match alone is not enough when several people share the same or a similar name. Compare multiple identifiers before concluding that a jail record belongs to the person you intended to find.
- Compare the full name, including middle name or initial when available.
- Check date of birth or age rather than relying only on appearance.
- Match the booking number if you received it from the inmate, family member, attorney or jail.
- Check the booking date and arresting agency.
- Confirm whether the person is currently incarcerated or merely appears as a recent release.
- Use the Clerk case to verify later court activity instead of assuming the booking charge was the final charge.
