Marshall County AL Mugshots, Recent Bookings & Jail Records
The fastest place to check a Marshall County jail booking is the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center inmate roster. The roster provides routes for current and released inmates and may show a booking photo, booking number, age, booking date, listed charges, bond information and release information when those fields are available.
Use the jail roster for custody and booking information, then use Alabama court records when you need to follow the criminal case itself. A booking photo or listed charge records an arrest or custody event; it does not establish guilt or a conviction.
Search Marshall County jail bookings
The Sheriff’s Office roster is the primary public route for checking people currently held at the detention center and people shown in the released-inmate section.
Roster first → confirm the booking identifiers → use court records for the case status or disposition.
How to Search Marshall County AL Mugshots and Bookings
The Sheriff’s Office inmate roster includes a name-search field and separate routes for current and released inmates. Start with the broadest reliable identifier you have, then confirm the result from the booking profile rather than relying only on the photograph.
What the Marshall County Inmate Roster Can Show
Individual roster entries can contain different fields depending on the booking. Do not assume every profile will include every item.
| Roster field | What it helps confirm | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Booking photo | Visual reference associated with the jail entry | A photo alone is not a reliable identity or guilt determination |
| Booking number | The specific jail booking record | It is not necessarily the same as a court case number |
| Booking date | When the custody event was entered | It does not tell you the final court outcome |
| Charges | Allegations or legal grounds listed with the booking | Charges can later be amended, dismissed or resolved differently |
| Bond | A listed bond amount when one is displayed | Conditions and eligibility can change; verify before paying or traveling |
| Release date | That the roster shows a release event | A release does not by itself mean the underlying case ended |
If the Person Does Not Appear in the Roster
A missing result does not prove that no arrest occurred. The person may have been released, transferred, booked under a different name format, held by another agency or no longer included in the particular view you searched.
Try the released-inmate route
If the booking was earlier, switch from the current-inmate list to the Sheriff’s Office released-inmate section. A person who has left the facility should not be treated as currently incarcerated simply because an older booking page exists.
Broaden the name search
Search a last name by itself, then compare age and booking details. Middle names, suffixes, hyphenated names and spelling variations can affect a search.
Check the responsible agency
Marshall County Jail is only one custody system. Municipal, state, federal or out-of-county custody may require a different agency lookup.
Follow the court case separately
If you already know a case exists, use the Alabama court system or contact the Marshall County Circuit Clerk rather than treating a jail roster search as a complete case search.

Current Marshall County Jail Mail Route

Inmate Name/Inmate Number
PO Box 16060
Jonesboro, AR 72401
Legal mail
The Sheriff’s Office says legal mail from an attorney of record continues to be accepted at the facility. It must be clearly marked “Private Legal Mail” and include the inmate’s name.
Books
Books may continue to be accepted when mailed directly from a vendor or publisher. The corrections page states that used books, including used religious books, are not accepted.
Bond Information for Marshall County Jail
Bond information shown on a booking profile is only a starting point. The Sheriff’s Office publishes separate requirements for property bonds and cash bonds, and the actual eligibility or amount can depend on the case.
Property bonds
Property bond signers are subject to approval by the sheriff. The Sheriff’s corrections page states that most felony cases require two property owners unless otherwise approved and that only property equity is considered.
All property owners or signers must be present with identification when the bond is signed. Property outside Marshall County requires sheriff approval.
Cash bonds
The Sheriff’s Office states that the arrested person or someone acting for them may post the full cash amount at the Circuit Clerk’s Office Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., excluding holidays and weekends.
The payment receipt must then be produced at the Sheriff’s Department.
How to Check the Court Case After a Marshall County Booking
A jail profile answers custody and booking questions. The Alabama court system is the better route when you need to know what happened after the arrest, including the court division handling the matter and later case activity.
Marshall County — 27th Judicial Circuit provides local court information, forms and clerk contacts.
Alabama Administrative Office of Courts links to statewide court services, including on-demand trial-court record access.
424 Blount Avenue, Suite 201, Guntersville, AL 35976 — 256-571-7785.
133 South Emmett Street, Albertville, AL 35950 — 256-878-4521.
The local court site publishes office hours of 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Why jail charges and court outcomes can differ
The charge description on a booking page reflects the jail record at a particular point in time. Prosecutors and courts can later amend, dismiss, combine or otherwise resolve charges. A jail roster therefore should not be used as a substitute for the court record when the final case result matters.
Custody Notifications and VINE
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office links to VINELink as a victim-notification resource. If you need notification about a custody-status change, use the service’s current availability and registration instructions rather than repeatedly checking a static booking page.
Verify a Marshall County Arrest Record Before Relying on It
Booking pages are useful for locating a custody event, but they can be misunderstood when copied or viewed out of context. Use more than one identifier and distinguish the arrest record from the later case result.
- Match the person’s full name and age where available.
- Record the booking number and booking date.
- Read the exact charge wording instead of paraphrasing it.
- Check whether the profile shows current custody or a release date.
- Use the court system when you need a disposition or later case status.
- Do not treat an arrest, charge, bond amount or mugshot as proof of guilt.
Marshall County Mugshot Search Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible explanation | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| No name result | Spelling, name format, release or different custody agency | Search one name at a time, then check released inmates |
| Photo appears but details seem wrong | Similar name or mistaken identity | Compare age, booking number, date and court information |
| Bond is shown but release has not occurred | Other holds, conditions or processing may apply | Verify current status with the jail before assuming release eligibility |
| Old booking still appears online | The page may be a released or historical booking record | Do not describe the person as currently incarcerated without a current-custody check |
| Jail charge differs from court information | The case may have changed after booking | Use the court record for later case activity and disposition |
