Ada County Mugshots, Arrests and Jail Booking Records
If you are trying to find an Ada County arrest booking, start with the Ada County Sheriff’s Office inmate roster. It is the most direct public route for checking whether an adult is currently housed in the Ada County Jail and for reviewing available booking and bail information.
The jail roster is not a complete criminal-history report. A booking entry shows that a person was taken into custody; it does not establish guilt, a conviction or the final outcome of the criminal case.
How to Search the Ada County Jail Roster
The Ada County Sheriff’s Office maintains the public inmate roster used to check adults housed in the county jail. The official page allows users to search by the beginning letters of a last name.
The Sheriff states that juvenile offenders are not included. The site also warns that recent custody changes may not appear immediately because the public database is updated every 24 hours.
Where Ada County Booking Photos or Mugshots May Appear
Start with the official jail record when looking for Ada County booking information. Photo availability can vary by record, system presentation and disclosure rules, so a missing image should not be treated as proof that no arrest or booking occurred.
Current jail booking
Use the Sheriff’s inmate roster first. It is the official public route for people currently listed as housed in the Ada County Jail.
Older arrest record
If the person is no longer in the current roster, use the Sheriff’s public-record request process for records the agency can legally release.
Charges, Bail and Booking Information
A jail booking may contain charge information associated with the person’s current detention. Ada County explains that bail information is shown for charges where release is an option and that some charges are not eligible for bail.
A listed charge is an allegation or legal basis associated with the booking. It is not the same thing as a conviction. Court records should be checked for amended charges, dismissals, pleas, judgments and other later developments.
| Record item | What it can tell you | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Booking entry | The person was processed into custody under the listed booking information. | Guilt or final case outcome. |
| Charge | The offense or legal allegation connected to the custody record. | That the person was convicted of that offense. |
| Bail amount | A release amount may be listed where bail is permitted. | That the person has paid bail or will be released. |
| Current roster status | The public roster shows people recorded as housed in the jail at its last update. | Minute-by-minute custody status. |
Check the Ada County Court Case After the Arrest
Idaho’s Judicial Branch directs the public to the iCourt Portal for general state court case information. For records from an individual case, the Judicial Branch also directs users to courthouse public-access computers or the clerk’s office where the case was filed.

Request Ada County Arrest Records From the Sheriff
The Ada County Sheriff’s Office accepts public-record requests for records it creates and maintains, subject to Idaho disclosure restrictions. The Sheriff states that it can provide an individual’s Ada County arrest history for people who have been booked into the Ada County Jail.
The agency does not provide a statewide public background check. For records involving arrests elsewhere in Idaho, the Sheriff directs users toward the appropriate statewide or other agency route.
Use the Ada County Sheriff public-record request page and describe the record as specifically as possible.
For an individual record, the Sheriff asks for complete names and dates of birth to help make sure the correct person is identified.
The Sheriff identifies its Public Safety Information Center at 7200 Barrister, Boise, Idaho as a route for written requests.
The Sheriff says public-record requests generally take 3–10 business days. Larger requests may involve a fee.
For additional Sheriff records questions, the published contact number is (208) 577-3012.
How to Confirm Current Custody or Release Status
Because the Ada County online roster is not a real-time minute-by-minute system, use more than one step when current custody matters.
- Check the official Ada County inmate roster first.
- Confirm that the name and available identifying details match the correct person.
- Note the listed charge, bail information and record identifiers.
- For immediate custody confirmation, call (208) 577-3000.
- Use Idaho iCourt to check the associated court case.
- If the person has moved into Idaho Department of Correction custody, use the state resident/client search rather than assuming the county roster remains current.
Visitation, Money and Jail Contact Information
Ada County Jail policies allow approved visitation subject to safety and security requirements. Visitors can be screened, visits can be delayed or cancelled when security conditions require it, and inmates may refuse a visit.
The Sheriff’s current policy manual also describes public inmate-account deposits through a jail-lobby kiosk, online or by telephone through the county’s contracted system. Because vendors and procedures can change, verify the current method with the jail before sending money.

What to Do When You Cannot Find the Booking
The arrest was very recent
The public database may not yet reflect the booking. Ada County says the online roster updates every 24 hours, so call the jail when immediate confirmation is necessary.
The person was released
A person may disappear from a current-inmate search after release. Check iCourt for the related case and use a public-record request if you need an eligible historical Sheriff record.
The name does not match
Try the legal surname and verify identity using the date of birth or official identifiers when available. Do not assume a similar name belongs to the same person.
The arrest happened outside Ada County
Ada County Sheriff records are not a statewide arrest-history database. Use the responsible county, agency or appropriate Idaho statewide resource.
The person is in state custody
Use the Idaho Department of Correction Resident/Client Search when the person has transferred from county detention into IDOC custody.
You need an official case document
Use the Idaho court clerk or courthouse record-access route rather than treating a jail booking page as the complete court file.
