Hillsborough County Mugshots, Recent Arrests and Jail Booking Records
For Hillsborough County jail mugshots and recent arrest information, start with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Arrest Inquiry. The official database can show current jail inmates, booking information, charges, displayed bond amounts and booking photos, while court records should be checked separately for later filings and final case outcomes.
Search the HCSO arrest database first
The public Arrest Inquiry is the primary Hillsborough County tool for checking jail bookings. HCSO says its electronic adult-arrest records are available from January 1, 1995 forward and that the public database is updated every 30 minutes.
For a very recent booking, search by the person’s first and last name. HCSO says new arrest records may not appear in the general listings during the first 24 hours even though a direct name search can locate the person.
A booking database and a court docket answer different questions. Use both when accuracy matters.
How to Search Hillsborough County Jail Mugshots and Recent Arrests
The strongest search begins with HCSO rather than a copied mugshot website. The sheriff’s database lets you work from the original booking-side record and then move to the court system when you need information beyond the arrest itself.
What the HCSO Arrest Inquiry Can Tell You
The public search is designed around arrest and jail information. It is useful for establishing that a booking occurred and for checking the custody-side details that exist in the sheriff’s system.
Booking identification
Use the booking number, name, booking date and other identifiers to distinguish the correct record from people with similar names.
Charges and bond
The inquiry can display charge information and bond amounts associated with the booking. These values can change and should be verified before money is posted.
Booking photo
A booking image can help confirm identity, but it is not evidence of conviction and should never be treated as proof that the allegations were proven.
Hillsborough County Jail Locations
HCSO’s Department of Detention Services operates the county jail system. The Orient Road Jail is the primary receiving facility for booking and processing, while the Falkenburg Road Jail is a major housing facility.
Orient Road Jail
Address:
1201 Orient Road
Tampa, FL 33619
Jail information: 813-247-8300
Orient Road is HCSO’s primary receiving facility and handles central booking, intake, inmate records and related detention functions.
Falkenburg Road Jail
Address:
520 N. Falkenburg Road
Tampa, FL 33619
Jail information: 813-247-8300
Falkenburg is a large direct-supervision detention facility and provides inmate housing, programs and other detention services.
Call the jail before traveling when your visit depends on a person’s current housing location, release status or a service that may have changed.
How Bond Works After a Hillsborough County Booking
If release is your immediate concern, first open the arrest record and verify the person, charges and displayed bond information. Then check HCSO’s current bond instructions before taking payment to the jail.
HCSO says payments are accepted only in the exact amount. Money orders may also be used, while credit and debit cards are not accepted for this HCSO payment route.
Have the inmate’s correctly spelled name and date of birth, and bring valid identification when making the payment.
HCSO directs cash-bond and purge payments to the Orient Road Jail at 1201 Orient Road, Tampa, FL 33619.
Surety bonds are accepted from registered bail bond agents. HCSO directs users to a local registered bondsman for those arrangements.
Use Hillsborough Court Records for the Case Outcome
The jail record tells you about the arrest and custody event. The Clerk of Court maintains the court-side record for misdemeanor and felony cases, including filed case activity and court events.
| Question | Best starting source | What it helps confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Was the person booked? | HCSO Arrest Inquiry | Booking, custody, charges, bond and booking-photo information |
| Was a criminal case filed? | Hillsborough Clerk / HOVER | Case number, docket and filed court activity |
| When is the next hearing? | Clerk court records | Hearing and court-event information when publicly available |
| What was the final outcome? | Clerk criminal case record | Later case activity and disposition rather than the original arrest allegation |
For misdemeanor arrests, the Clerk explains that jail paperwork is received and used to create the court file, while the State Attorney determines whether formal charges will be filed. The same basic distinction matters in felony cases: an arrest charge and the charge ultimately prosecuted are not always the same.
Phone Calls, Video Visitation and Professional Visits
HCSO’s current inmate communication page separates telephone service, remote video visitation and professional visits. Family and friends should use the current communication instructions rather than older visitation schedules found on archived pages.
Inmate phone calls
Calls are free in Central Booking so newly booked inmates can communicate and make bail arrangements. HCSO says telephone service is typically available in general-population housing from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Calls are outgoing only.
Remote video visitation
Video visitation is typically available from 9:30 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. HCSO says each inmate receives two hours of prescheduled no-cost video visitation per week.
As of October 28, 2025, the onsite public Visitation Center is closed and video visitation is conducted remotely.
Professional visits
Qualified in-person professional visitation is available seven days per week between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., subject to HCSO requirements.
For jail questions, call 813-247-8300.
Mail, Electronic Messages and Commissary
Personal inmate mail
HCSO changed the physical-mail route on October 28, 2025. Personal mail should be addressed with the inmate’s name and booking number and sent to the centralized processing address below.
Personal mail format
(Inmate Name) – (Inmate Booking Number)
c/o Mail Processing Center
PO BOX 9115
Seminole, FL 33775-9115
Electronic messages
Inmates may send and receive electronic messages through their tablets. Photograph messages may also be available, subject to incoming-content rules.
Commissary
Commissary services are available within inmate housing areas. HCSO’s inmate communication page provides the current approved payment and package-provider links; use that official page before sending money because vendors and procedures can change.
Wrong Information, Identity Theft, Sealing and Expungement
If an HCSO arrest record contains an apparent factual error, do not assume that changing a court record automatically changes every sheriff database entry. HCSO maintains a specific correction route for arrest information displayed on its website.
Factual errors
For issues such as an incorrect arrest date or transposed numbers or characters, HCSO directs people to its Error Correction Form and the Intake Operations Bureau.
Identity theft
If a record appears under your identity because of identity theft, HCSO instructs affected individuals to complete an Identity Theft Form through its Identification Section, where identity verification includes fingerprinting.
Final disposition
The sheriff’s arrest page may not show what happened later in court. HCSO directs users seeking final criminal dispositions to the Clerk of the Circuit Court.
Seal or expunge
Florida’s process begins with determining eligibility through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. FDLE states that obtaining a Certificate of Eligibility is the first step for a court-ordered sealing or expungement process.
Why a Hillsborough County Mugshot or Booking May Be Hard to Find
Search using the person’s first and last name instead of relying only on the general booking listing. HCSO warns that new records can be absent from general listings during the first 24 hours.
Do not treat absence from a current-inmate filter as proof that no arrest occurred. Search the broader arrest inquiry and check court records if you are researching the case history.
Use date of birth, booking number and other identifiers. A name-only match can associate the wrong person with a criminal allegation.
The booking record reflects the arrest stage. Use the Clerk’s court record to see what charges, if any, were formally filed and what happened afterward.
Use the official HCSO and FDLE correction/sealing routes rather than assuming a third-party website can change the government record.
Before You Rely on a Booking Record
- Confirm the record on the official HCSO Arrest Inquiry.
- Match date of birth and booking identifiers, not just the name or photograph.
- Check whether the person is currently in custody or the entry is historical.
- Verify every bond and hold before attempting to post money.
- Use the Clerk’s court record for the filed case and later outcome.
- Do not describe an arrest, charge or booking photo as a conviction.
- Recheck current jail instructions before sending mail, money or arranging communication.
