Daytona Beach Mugshots, Recent Bookings and the Official Records to Check Next
If you are searching for mugshots in Daytona, Florida, the main official jail route is Volusia County Division of Corrections. Daytona Beach arrests that result in a county jail booking can appear in Volusia County’s inmate system, while the Volusia County Clerk publishes downloadable 24-hour arrest and booking reports for recent jail admissions.
Do not stop at a booking photograph. Use the inmate record to confirm identity and custody, then use the criminal court record for case status and disposition. If you need the police report from an incident inside Daytona Beach city limits, request that separately from the Daytona Beach Police Department.
Start with Volusia County’s official inmate and booking sources
Volusia County says its public inmate information is updated about every 15 minutes. The county also warns that the online information is for general informational use and should not be treated as the official record for legal action.

How to Search Daytona Beach Jail Bookings
Daytona Beach does not operate a separate public city mugshot database for county jail custody. For a person booked into the Volusia County jail system, start with the Volusia County Corrections page and choose its official Inmate Information Search.
How to Find Recent Daytona and Volusia County Arrests
The Volusia County Clerk hosts an Arrest/Booking Download with files created from Volusia County’s Jail Management System. The Clerk explains that the daily criminal arrest information covers people arrested and booked into the Branch Jail during the previous 24 hours.
These files include initial booking, charge and violation information and generally remain available for about 14 calendar days. That makes the report useful when you know an arrest was very recent but have not yet found the person through a normal name search.
Where Daytona Booking Photos Come From
The Volusia Sheriff’s Office directs users looking for mug shots to the Volusia County Corrections Public Access system. That means the booking photograph is tied to the county corrections record rather than being a standalone Daytona Beach Police photo gallery.
If you need a booking photo
Use the Volusia County inmate/public-access route and verify the full booking record before saving or sharing a photograph. A photo without the booking details can easily be associated with the wrong person or an outdated custody status.
If no photo appears
Do not assume there was no arrest. Availability can depend on the record, legal restrictions, processing status or the way the public system displays that booking. Use the booking number, recent-arrest report and court record as stronger identifiers.
Verify the Person Before Relying on a Daytona Mugshot
Names alone are not enough. Before connecting an arrest record or photograph to a person, compare as many official identifiers as the public record provides.
- Full booked name, including middle name or suffix when shown
- Age or date of birth when publicly available
- Booking number
- Booking date and time
- Arresting or committing agency
- Charge descriptions
- Current custody or release information
- Related Volusia County court case number when available
Which Jail Handles Daytona Beach Bookings?
Volusia County Division of Corrections operates two county detention facilities in the Daytona Beach area. The correct facility can depend on sex, custody level, sentencing status and classification.
| Facility | Address / contact | Main role described by the county |
|---|---|---|
| Volusia County Branch Jail |
1300 Red John Drive, Daytona Beach 386-254-1555 |
Pretrial inmates, state-sentenced inmates and medium/high-custody non-sentenced males. Bond posting and First Appearance hearings are handled here. |
| Volusia County Correctional Facility |
1354 Indian Lake Road, Daytona Beach 386-254-1565 |
County-sentenced inmates, low/medium-custody non-sentenced males and female inmates. |
Verify the person’s current facility through the inmate record before driving to either location. Housing assignments can change.
Bond, First Appearance and Release in Volusia County
For Daytona-area county jail bookings, bond information is available through the Branch Jail Booking Office at 386-254-1555, which the county says operates 24 hours a day. Anyone may post bond in cash or use a bondsman, subject to the bond set in the case.
Volusia County says a newly admitted person generally appears before a judge within one day. The county currently lists First Appearance at the Branch Jail at 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. on weekends and holidays.
A judge may keep, increase or reduce bond, release a person on recognizance, or use a qualifying pretrial-supervision route. Check the current booking and court docket rather than relying on an earlier bond amount.
The county says release paperwork can take roughly two to four hours after processing begins, depending on circumstances. Court-related releases may not start until proceedings and paperwork are completed.
Volusia County states that inmates are not normally released between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. unless a responsible party is on site to transport the person and checks in with Control.
Check the Volusia County Criminal Court Record After a Booking
A jail record explains the booking stage. The Volusia County Clerk of the Circuit Court is the better source for the criminal case after charges reach court. Public criminal files can include docket events, case status and documents unless information is sealed, expunged or otherwise restricted by law.
How to Request a Daytona Beach Police Arrest or Incident Report
When the incident was handled by the Daytona Beach Police Department, the police report is a separate record from the county jail booking. DBPD’s Records Unit maintains offense, supplemental, arrest, accident and miscellaneous incident reports.
Records Unit
DBPD currently lists Records Unit hours as 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding weekends and holidays.
Police Custodian of Records: 386-671-5430.
What to include in a request
Daytona Beach Police asks requesters to provide as much information as possible, such as the case number, date, location and type of incident. Those details make it easier to identify the correct record.
Volusia County Jail Visitation for Daytona-Area Inmates
Volusia County uses scheduled video visitation rather than contact visitation. The visitation center is next to the Branch Jail at 1300A Red John Drive.
Booking number required
The county says you need the inmate’s six-digit booking number to schedule a visit. Find it through the official inmate search first.
Advance scheduling
Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance, by 9 p.m. before the requested visit day, and may be booked up to two weeks ahead.
Check in early
Visitors are instructed to check in 10 minutes before the appointment. Entry is not permitted once the scheduled visitation period has begun.
| Days | Afternoon sessions | Evening sessions |
|---|---|---|
| Tuesday through Saturday |
1:00–1:30 p.m. 1:40–2:10 p.m. 2:20–2:50 p.m. 3:00–3:30 p.m. |
6:30–7:00 p.m. 7:10–7:40 p.m. 7:50–8:20 p.m. 8:30–9:00 p.m. |
- Adults 18 and older need photo ID showing date of birth.
- Up to two people and two small children may visit at one time.
- Electronic devices are prohibited inside the visitation building.
- Visits are restricted during the inmate’s initial 72 hours unless approved by the Operations Supervisor.
- The county permits one visiting session per day Tuesday through Saturday.
Inmate Money, Commissary and Mail
Volusia County uses the inmate’s booked name and booking number for money and mail processing. Confirm both before sending anything because an incorrect booking number can delay or prevent proper delivery.
Money and inmate accounts
The county’s current instructions say personal checks and cash are not accepted through the mail. Money orders, certified checks or government checks are accepted under the listed procedures, and the inmate’s booked name and booking number should be included.
Current mailing format
Volusia County Corrections
Inmate’s name and booking number
1354 Indian Lake Road
Daytona Beach, FL 32120-2865
Mail must include a return address and arrive through a recognized delivery channel. The county says letters may contain no more than six photographs, with each photograph no larger than 4 by 6 inches. Hand-delivered mail is refused.
What to Do if a Daytona Arrest Does Not Appear
Allow for booking and data-entry time. Recheck the county inmate system and the next available 24-hour arrest/booking report.
A person may no longer appear as currently held. Use the Clerk’s arrest/booking download and criminal case search to continue the record trail.
The person may have been booked in another Florida county or transferred to state or federal custody. Do not assume every Daytona-related arrest remains in a Volusia County facility.
Try the legal surname, booked name or a simplified name search. Aliases, suffixes and spelling differences can prevent an exact-name match.
Volusia County lists 386-254-1540 for booking, bonding, charges and arrest information and 386-254-1555 for the Branch Jail.
