Eastern Regional Jail Mugshots, Recent Arrests & Booking Records
For a recent Eastern West Virginia arrest, start with the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation rather than a reposted mugshot page. WV DCR provides the official jail-search route and Daily Incarcerations tool for recent admissions, while West Virginia Judiciary records are the better source for what happened in the criminal case.
Start with the official West Virginia inmate search
If the arrest was recent, check Daily Incarcerations first. If you already know the person’s name, use the jail offender search and verify that the facility shown is Eastern Regional Jail.
Use the booking record to identify the person and facility; use the court system to understand the case.
What Are You Trying to Find?
How to Check Recent Eastern Regional Jail Bookings
WV DCR’s Offender Search hub links to Daily Incarcerations, which is the most useful official starting point when an arrest may have happened today, overnight or within the last few days. The information can change quickly, so use the daily list as a starting point rather than proof of current custody.
Search Eastern Regional Jail Mugshots by Name
When you know the person’s name but not the booking date, use Offender Search (Jails) from the WV DCR search hub. Open the possible match and verify that the facility is Eastern Regional Jail before using any charge, booking or photo information.
Start broad
Search the surname first if the system allows it. Add the first name or other available identifiers only when you need to narrow multiple results.
Verify before sharing
Compare the full booked name, facility, admission date and county context. Do not identify someone from a mugshot alone.
Details worth saving from the official record
| Detail | Why it matters | Next use |
|---|---|---|
| Full booked name | Reduces wrong-person matches. | Court search and facility calls. |
| Facility name | Confirms the person is associated with ERJ rather than another WV facility. | Visits, mail, deposits and calls. |
| Admission or booking date | Separates older records from a current arrest. | Recent-booking and court checks. |
| Charge wording | Helps locate the correct criminal case. | Magistrate or circuit court search. |
| County clue | ERJ serves three counties. | Choosing the correct court clerk. |
| Date checked | Custody can change after release or transfer. | Later status verification. |

How to Check the Court Case After an ERJ Arrest
A booking entry can show that someone entered custody, but it does not tell the whole legal story. For hearing information, case activity and later disposition, move from WV DCR to the West Virginia Judiciary’s court-record systems.
Use the Magistrate Record Search. The Judiciary says users can search by first or last name or case number and receive up to 30 results. Online case documents themselves are not provided through that public search.
Use the Court Record Access landing page for statewide circuit-court search options.
Contact the clerk in the county where the case was filed. The Judiciary directs users to the clerk for specific court-record copies and notes that statutory copy fees may apply.
Which county should you check?
If the jail record does not make the filing county obvious, start with the arrest location and charge information. Because Eastern Regional Jail serves Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties, do not assume every ERJ booking belongs to a Berkeley County case.
Eastern Regional Jail Visitation
ERJ publishes facility-specific visitation instructions. Check the current PDF before traveling because schedules and operational rules can change.
How to schedule
The published ERJ instructions say visits may be scheduled during normal business hours on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call at least one day before the intended visit.
Scheduling numbers:
304-267-0045
304-267-0048
Visit limits
The published instructions state that visits are 30 minutes and an inmate is permitted one visit per week. The listed visitor limit is either one adult and two children or two adults.
Published visitation time slots
| Day | Published 30-minute start times |
|---|---|
| Tuesday | 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. |
| Thursday | 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. |
| Saturday | 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. |
Identification
The ERJ visitation instructions list a driver’s license, non-driver identification card, U.S. passport book or card, and U.S. military ID as acceptable identification. A Social Security card, credit card, insurance card or self-generated ID is not listed as acceptable visitor identification.
Minor children must be accompanied as required by the facility. When another adult member of the immediate family brings the child rather than the parent or legal guardian, the published instructions require a notarized Juvenile Visitation Form from the non-incarcerated parent or legal guardian.
Mail, Money, Calls & Video Visits
Send money
WV DCR says family and friends may deposit money into inmate trust accounts by phone, web or app. The listed phone number is 888-988-4768, with online deposits handled through ConnectNetwork.
Calls & video
WV DCR uses GettingOut for inmate calling and video visits. Use the state page to reach the current provider instructions rather than relying on an old vendor link.
Letters
General friend-and-family letters are routed through the state’s mail-processing address. Include the inmate’s full name, OID number and the full facility name.
Current general-letter format

Custody-Status Notifications Through VINE
If you need notification when an offender’s custody status changes, WV DCR provides information about West Virginia’s VINE service. Victims can obtain custody information or register for automated notifications.
WV DCR notes that facility transfers may not trigger a notification until the offender reaches the new facility. Use the official service for current instructions.
Why You May Not Find the Person
The booking may still be processing. Check Daily Incarcerations again later and then use the name-based jail search.
The person may have been taken to another regional jail or correctional facility. Use the statewide WV DCR search rather than limiting the search to ERJ.
A previously visible custody record may no longer describe the person’s current location. Verify status through WV DCR and use VINE when appropriate.
Try the legal surname, alternate spelling or fewer search terms. Do not compensate for an uncertain name by assuming a similar photo is the same person.
If the person is no longer in custody, the court record may still provide the relevant case history and disposition.
How to Use Mugshot and Arrest Information Responsibly
Booking data is time-sensitive and can become misleading when it is copied without later court context. Record the date you checked the source and distinguish an arrest allegation from a conviction or final disposition.
- Confirm identity using more than a photo.
- Verify the exact facility before calling or sending money.
- Use court records for case outcome and hearing information.
- Recheck current custody before planning a visit.
- Do not describe an arrest charge as a conviction.
- Do not assume an older booking page reflects current custody.
