Find Volusia County Mugshots, Recent Arrests and Booking Records
For a current Volusia County booking photo or jail record, start with the Volusia County Division of Corrections inmate search. For arrests made during the previous 24 hours, the Clerk of the Circuit Court also publishes daily Arrest/Booking files created from the county Jail Management System.
These sources answer different questions. The jail search is the better route for a specific inmate or booking photo, while the Clerk’s downloadable daily reports are useful when you want to review recent bookings by date.
Fastest official search route
Use the county Corrections search first when you know the person’s name or booking number. Volusia County states that its online inmate information is updated about every 15 minutes, but also warns that the online display is for general informational use and is not the official record for legal action.
If a booking is very recent and the person does not appear immediately, recheck the county system later or call Booking/Bonding/Charges/Arrest at (386) 254-1540.
The useful answer usually comes from combining the jail booking with the later court record—not from the photograph alone.
How to Search Volusia County Mugshots Online
The Volusia Sheriff’s Office directs people looking for mugshots to the Volusia County Corrections Public Access system. This distinction matters because the Sheriff’s Office does not operate the county jail; custodial and inmate-information services are handled by the Volusia County Division of Corrections.
Recent Volusia County Arrests and 24-Hour Booking Reports
The Volusia County Clerk provides a separate Arrest/Booking Download. These files are created by the County of Volusia from data in the Jail Management System; the Clerk states that it does not create or maintain the underlying jail data.
Each daily report covers arrest data for people arrested and booked into the Branch Jail during the previous 24 hours. The files include initial booking, charge and violation information and are available in downloadable formats such as PDF and spreadsheet files.
Use the daily report when…
- You are reviewing bookings from a particular recent day.
- You do not yet know the exact booking number.
- You want a date-based list rather than a single-name search.
- You want to compare a recent booking with the jail system.
Use the live inmate search when…
- You need a specific person’s jail entry.
- You are looking specifically for the available booking photograph.
- You need current custody or booking information.
- You already have a name or booking number.
What a Volusia County Booking Record Can—and Cannot—Tell You
Booking data is most useful when you treat each field as one part of the record. The charge description tells you what was recorded at intake, while the booking number identifies that custody event. Bond and custody information may change after First Appearance or later court action.
| Record field | What it helps confirm | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Booking photo | The photograph associated with a jail intake record. | Guilt, conviction or the final case outcome. |
| Booking number | The specific intake or custody record. | That every original charge remained unchanged. |
| Charge | The offense information recorded at booking. | What prosecutors ultimately filed or what a court decided. |
| Bond | The release condition or amount recorded at that point. | That release has already occurred. |
| Custody status | Whether the person appears in the county custody system at the time checked. | The person’s later status after a transfer or release. |
Check the Volusia County Court Record After the Booking
The jail record and the criminal court record serve different purposes. Once a booking is confirmed, use the Volusia County Clerk Online Public Records to look for the related criminal case.
The Clerk’s Case Inquiry supports searches using a name or case number and can display case details and many public docket images. Some documents require Clerk review before they can be released for online viewing, and records made confidential by law or court order are excluded.

Volusia County Jail, Bond and Release Information
Volusia County operates two correctional facilities in the Daytona Beach area. The Branch Jail handles intake-related functions, bond information and First Appearance hearings. The separate Correctional Facility houses other categories of inmates, including all female inmates according to the county’s current jail-information page.
Volusia County Branch Jail
Address: 1300 Red John Drive, Daytona Beach, Florida
Main number: (386) 254-1555
The county directs people here to post bond and attend First Appearance hearings.
Volusia County Correctional Facility
Address: 1354 Indian Lake Road, Daytona Beach, Florida
Main number: (386) 254-1565
Use the inmate record and county contact information to confirm where a specific person is housed.
County pages currently show slightly different ZIP-code formatting for the Branch Jail in different places. If you are mailing documents or something time-sensitive, verify the current mailing address with Corrections rather than relying on the street address alone.
What happens after arrest?
Volusia County says an arrested person remains in custody until bond is posted or a judge orders release. Within one day of jail admission, the person receives a First Appearance hearing where the judge reviews the charges and may change bond, release the person on recognizance, or address other release conditions.
Current county information lists First Appearance hearings at the Branch Jail at 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. on weekends and holidays. Hearing schedules can change, so confirm before making a trip solely to attend.
Bond and release timing
Anyone may post bond in cash or through a bondsman. Bond information is available through the Branch Jail Booking Office at (386) 254-1555, which the county states is open 24/7.
After an inmate becomes eligible for release, Corrections says the paperwork process can take approximately 2 to 4 hours depending on circumstances. The county also states that regular releases are not made between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. unless a responsible party is on site to transport the person and checks in with Control.
Useful Volusia County Corrections Phone Numbers
Calling the right unit can save time. Use the booking line for questions about an arrest or charge; use the facility number for location, visitation or facility-specific questions.
Visiting Someone in Volusia County Jail
Volusia County uses video visitation rather than contact visitation. The on-site Visitation Center is at 1300A Red John Drive, next to the Branch Jail.
You need the inmate’s 6-digit booking number to schedule a visit. Appointments are required, generally must be made at least 24 hours in advance and may be scheduled up to two weeks ahead. Visitors are instructed to check in 10 minutes before the scheduled session.
Current session days
Tuesday through Saturday.
Afternoon sessions begin at 1:00 p.m., 1:40 p.m., 2:20 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Evening sessions
6:30 p.m., 7:10 p.m., 7:50 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Confirm availability when scheduling because facility operations can affect visitation.
- Visitors age 18 and older must bring acceptable photo identification showing date of birth.
- Cell phones, cameras, tablets and other recording devices are prohibited inside the visitation building.
- Visits are restricted during the inmate’s initial 72 hours unless approved by the Operations Supervisor.
- Inmates in disciplinary confinement do not receive regular visitation privileges.
Check the current Volusia County visitation rules before leaving home.
Inmate Money, Mail and Property
Booking information is useful beyond simply finding a mugshot. Volusia County requires an inmate’s booking number for several jail services, including account deposits and properly addressed inmate mail.
Money
County instructions say personal checks and cash are not accepted by mail. Approved deposit methods depend on the route used, so confirm the current Corrections instructions before sending funds.
Mail must be addressed to the specific inmate using the name under which the person is incarcerated and the matching booking number. A sender return address is required.
Property
An inmate may request release of eligible stored property through the jail process. Corrections advises callers to confirm approval before traveling to pick it up.
Corrections states that approved property may be picked up 24/7 with proper identification and is held for up to five days after approval before being returned to storage. Clothing is not released through this process because it is reissued to the inmate at release.
Arrest Reports and Public Records Are Different From Mugshots
A booking photograph is only one record type. If you need the incident report, crash report, investigative material or another law-enforcement record, use the agency that created or maintains that record.
For Volusia Sheriff records, the Records Section is the central repository for incident and Florida traffic crash reports generated by the Sheriff’s Office. Current VSO information lists the Records Section phone number as 386-736-5962 and provides an online public-records request route.
Open the Volusia Sheriff’s Office Reports and Public Records page.
Why a Volusia County Mugshot or Arrest May Be Hard to Find
Intake may still be processing. Recheck the Corrections system later or call the booking/charges line at (386) 254-1540.
Try the legal name or other exact identifying information you know. Do not assume a similarly named result is the correct person.
The person may have been released or transferred. Use available archive options and check the Clerk’s case record for later court activity.
The Clerk’s daily 24-hour files remain online only for a limited period. Search the court case or submit the appropriate public-record request instead.
A person transferred to the Florida Department of Corrections may no longer appear as a current county jail inmate. Use the state offender search for state custody.
Some records or documents are not publicly available because of statutory exemptions, sealing, expungement or a court order.
