Lafayette JADES Is Now the 365Labs Inmate and Booking Portal
If you searched for Lafayette JADES mugshots, the most important update is that the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office no longer uses JADES as its current jail-management system. LPSO now directs the public to its 365Labs Community Portal for people currently housed at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and for recent booking searches.
This means an old JADES bookmark or third-party mugshot page should not be your starting point. Begin with the Sheriff’s current offender-information page, use the official portal settings that match your search, and then move to the Daily Arrest Report, Sheriff’s Records Division, Clerk of Court, City Court, VINE or Louisiana corrections only when those sources answer the next question you actually have.
Start with the official Lafayette Parish search
LPSO says its newer portal replaced the former JADES system. The Sheriff’s instructions also warn that the portal does not automatically display inmate information until you select the appropriate search settings and press Search.
If the Community Portal asks you to select an agency, LPSO’s instructions say to choose LPSO.
How to Search Lafayette JADES Records in the Replacement Portal
The current process is more specific than simply opening a jail page and scrolling through names. LPSO’s replacement instructions say users may need to register with an email address and password, sign in, choose Lookup Inmates, set the Recent Bookings option correctly and then run the search.
What if you only want one person?
Use the narrowest reliable identifier you have. A booking number is usually more useful than a common name. If you only know the person’s name, compare the available record details before assuming you have the correct individual.
LPSO cautions that names in the portal may come from the arrestee or arresting agency and that fingerprint, criminal-history or other identification checks may not yet be complete when an entry is first generated. That is a practical reason to avoid identifying someone from a name or photograph alone.
Recent Lafayette Parish Arrests: Portal vs Daily Arrest Report
The inmate portal and the Sheriff’s Daily Arrest Report answer related but different questions. Use the portal when your main concern is current LPCC custody or a recent booking. Use the Daily Arrest Report when you want arrests organized by date and need fields such as the arresting agency, arrest time, charge description, cause-for-arrest summary or incident number.
| What you need | Best starting point | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Is someone currently housed at LPCC? | 365Labs Community Portal | Current inmate result and booking identifiers |
| Who was booked recently? | Community Portal with Recent Bookings selected | Recent booking result, name and booking number |
| Who was arrested on a certain date? | LPSO Daily Arrest Report | Arrest time, agency, charges and incident number |
| Do I need an official copy? | LPSO Records Division | Booking report, initial report, incident report or incarceration letter |
| What happened to the criminal case afterward? | Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court or applicable municipal court | Filed charge, case history, minutes, status and disposition |
What a Lafayette Booking or Mugshot Record Actually Tells You
A mugshot is only one element of a booking record. For practical research, the identifiers around the photograph are usually more useful because they help you distinguish people with similar names and connect a jail entry to a Sheriff’s report or later court case.
Booking number
Keep this number when it appears. LPSO specifically recommends using the booking number when a VINE search does not automatically locate the offender.
Arresting agency
This tells you which agency made the arrest. It matters when you later request an incident or offense report because not every Lafayette Parish arrest originates with LPSO.
Charge description
A booking charge records the allegation or basis entered at that stage. Prosecutors or courts may later file, amend, decline or dispose of charges differently.
Incident number
If the Daily Arrest Report shows an incident number, save it before contacting the agency that created the underlying incident report.
Bond information
A bond amount or type may help explain release options, but verify current holds and bonding instructions with LPCC before paying anything.
Booking photo
A photograph can help distinguish records, but it does not establish guilt, identity beyond doubt, current custody or the outcome of the criminal case.
Do not confuse a booking record with a criminal court record
The Sheriff’s system records the arrest and custody stage. The Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court’s Criminal Department handles formal criminal filings in the 15th Judicial District Court for Lafayette Parish. Court records are the better source when you need filed charges, case activity, minutes or disposition information.
Municipal matters can follow a different route. Lafayette City Court handles criminal and traffic matters within its jurisdiction and provides its own case-search system. Its website warns that online data is not real time and should not be used as the sole way to verify a warrant.

How to Get a Lafayette Parish Booking or Arrest Record
If the live jail lookup is not enough, the LPSO Records Division is the official next stop for Sheriff’s records. LPSO says the division manages offense and accident reports as well as inmate files and responds to public-record requests.
The Records office is listed at 303 West Vermillion Street, Lafayette, LA 70501, and the Sheriff’s phone directory lists 337-236-5845 for Records & I.D.
Know which document you actually need
| Record | Published fee | When it may help |
|---|---|---|
| Daily Booking Report | $10 per report | When you need the Sheriff’s booking report rather than a live portal view |
| Initial Report | $10 per report | For an initial Sheriff’s report tied to an incident |
| Incident Report | $10 plus $1 per supplemental page | When you need the report associated with an incident investigated by LPSO |
| Letter of Incarceration | $5 per letter | When formal documentation of incarceration is needed |
| Other document copies | $1 per page | For qualifying copies not separately listed in the Sheriff’s schedule |
Review the current LPSO Records page and fee schedule before visiting or paying.
How to Follow a Lafayette Arrest Into the Court Record
The jail search answers “was this person booked or housed?” A court search answers a different question: “what happened to the case?” If you need the formal charge, docket history, minutes or disposition, move from the jail record to the court system.
Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court
The Clerk’s Criminal Department handles formal criminal charges filed by the 15th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Lafayette Parish. The Clerk says its online court-record service includes criminal and traffic information such as offense date, charge filed, case history, service, minutes and disposition.
Lafayette City Court
Some city-level criminal and traffic matters use Lafayette City Court instead. Its case search supports name or docket-number searches and can display case status, violation information, disposition, bond and sentence-related fields when available.
Requesting criminal records from the Parish Clerk
The Clerk’s Criminal Department says a records request should identify the requestor and the record clearly. Be prepared to provide the requestor’s name and phone number, docket number, case caption, title of the documents requested, number of copies, whether regular or certified copies are needed, the delivery method and how payment will be made.
The Clerk states that payment is required before a criminal-record request is processed. The Criminal Department number is 337-291-6329.
Bail Information After a Lafayette Parish Booking
If the person remains at LPCC and a bond has been set, LPSO currently describes three bonding routes: commercial bond, personal surety bond and cash bond.
Commercial bond
LPSO says a commercial bond is posted through a bonding company chosen by the person arranging release. The Sheriff’s page describes a typical fee of 12% of the original bond but notes that the amount can vary by bondsman.
Personal surety
Also called a W-2 bond, this option requires approval and authorization by a judge. LPSO says a picture ID is required when the approved bond is signed at the correctional center.
Cash bond
LPSO says the full amount must be posted and describes cash or money order as the accepted form for this route. Verify the current amount and payment instructions before going to the facility.
The Sheriff’s current bail page lists LPCC at 916 Lafayette Street, Lafayette, LA 70501, with 337-236-5400 as the correctional-center number.
Check LPSO’s current bail instructions before paying because holds, bond type and court orders can affect release.
Released, Transferred or Sentenced? Use the Correct Next System
A person disappearing from the LPCC current-inmate list does not tell you by itself what happened. The person may have bonded out, been released, transferred, moved into another jurisdiction’s custody or later entered Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections custody.
VINE / LAVNS for custody notifications
LPSO’s portal instructions include a VINE route. If the offender does not load automatically on VINE, the Sheriff says to search by ID Number and enter the booking number from the Community Portal.
This is useful when your goal is release or custody-status notification rather than simply viewing a booking page.
Louisiana DOC for state custody
LPSO says the Louisiana DOC offender-locator information is updated every 24 hours and can provide housing assignment, facility address, contact phone and projected release information for applicable DOC offenders.
The Sheriff’s guidance also makes an important distinction: the DOC locator is not the correct system for ordinary pre-trial inmates or people serving parish or municipal sentences.
Use LPSO’s Louisiana DOC locator instructions when the person may have entered state corrections custody.

The Most Reliable Way to Use Lafayette Booking Information
For a current Lafayette Parish jail search, start with the Sheriff’s replacement portal rather than an old JADES link. Use the Daily Arrest Report when you need arrest details by date, save the booking and incident identifiers you find, and contact the correct records agency only when you need an official report.
If your real question is what happened after the arrest, stop treating the booking page as the final record. Move to the Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court or the applicable municipal court and check the filed case, minutes and disposition. If the person leaves LPCC, use VINE or Louisiana corrections according to the type of custody involved.
