Find Lee County mugshots, recent bookings and custody details
For Lee County, Florida, the most useful starting point is the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Arrest Search. It lets you search by name, date of birth, booking number, custody status, booking-date range and release-date range, with separate routes for recent bookings and recent releases.
Use the sheriff record to identify the correct booking, then move to the Lee County Clerk of Court when you need court activity or the final disposition of a criminal case.
Use the official Lee County arrest search first
The sheriff database is designed for arrests and detentions handled through the Lee County jail system. Search narrowly when possible, especially when a common name produces several matches.

How to search Lee County mugshots and booking records
What a Lee County arrest record can tell you
Booking identity
The official search can help distinguish a person through name, date of birth and booking number. When available, booking information may also include status and related arrest details.
Booking or release timing
The search includes booking-date and release-date ranges. Those filters are useful when you know roughly when the arrest or release occurred but do not know the booking number.
Custody status
The database includes an in-custody filter. A person shown in an older booking record may no longer be in jail, so current status should be checked rather than inferred from the age of the record.
Arrest or charge information
Booking data describes what was recorded at the arrest or detention stage. It does not establish guilt and does not replace the court docket for final case results.
How to check charges and the final court case
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office specifically directs users to the Lee County Clerk of Court for the final disposition of arrests. That distinction matters because the jail record captures the arrest stage while the court record tracks what happened afterward.
Enter the case number in the Clerk’s Court Records Inquiry. This is usually the cleanest route once the criminal case has been filed.
The Clerk system also supports citation-number searches.
Search by party name. The Clerk allows wildcard searches using an asterisk when you are unsure of the exact spelling.
Some older or restricted records may not be viewable through the public online system and may require a records request.
How to verify whether someone is still in custody
Do not use an old mugshot or booking page as proof that someone remains in jail. Start with the sheriff’s arrest search and use the In Custody field or the recent-release route.
- Check the most recent booking, not only the first matching name.
- Compare date of birth and booking number.
- Look for release information when available.
- If online information appears unclear, contact the appropriate Lee County corrections facility.
Lee County jail facilities and contact routes
| Facility | Address | What it handles |
|---|---|---|
| Downtown Jail / Main Jail | 2115 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33901 | The sheriff describes the Downtown Jail as the central intake and booking facility for people arrested within Lee County. |
| Core / CPU Facility | 2501 Ortiz Ave, Fort Myers, FL 33905 | Medium/maximum-security housing; the sheriff identifies the Core Facility as the primary housing facility for the female inmate population. |
Bond and bail information after a Lee County booking
The Lee County Sheriff’s Corrections FAQ states that bail follows the lawful monetary bail schedule or an applicable court order. Cash bonds, cash fines and cash purges require the exact amount to be paid in full at the time of service.
Cash payment
The Corrections Bureau says it does not accept personal checks, money orders or cashier’s checks for a cash bond, cash fine or cash purge. Excessive amounts of coins and rolled coins are also not accepted.
Surety bond
A person choosing the surety-bond route uses a bonding agent of their choice. The agent must be authorized and registered as required by the Lee County Clerk and Sheriff’s Corrections Bureau.
Lee County inmate visitation, money and mail
Visitation
Lee County corrections visits are conducted through video monitors. Visitors must register and schedule through the visitation program, and the sheriff instructs in-person visitors to check in at the kiosk and confirm identification at the visitation desk 15 minutes before the scheduled visit.
Basic visit limits
The sheriff states that each inmate is allowed two visitations per week for one hour each, with up to two visitors from the inmate’s authorized visitation list per session.
- Bring valid photo identification showing date of birth.
- Visitors must be on the inmate’s authorized visitation list unless an exception applies.
- Juvenile visitors must be accompanied by an adult.
- Remote visitation remains available through the sheriff’s contracted visitation platform.
Money, commissary and inmate mail
Deposit money
The sheriff lists online and phone trust-fund deposits through ConnectNetwork, along with kiosk deposits at the Main Jail and Ortiz site.
Care packages
Care packages cannot simply be mailed to the inmate. The sheriff directs approved package orders through its commissary vendor.
Electronic messaging
SmartJailMail is listed as an electronic messaging option for friends and family.
The sheriff’s Corrections FAQ warns that money cannot be mailed to inmates and lists many prohibited mailed items, including food, clothing, stamps, magazines and hygiene items. Check the current official mail rules before sending anything.
Why a mugshot alone is not enough
A booking photograph can help distinguish one arrest record from another, but it does not tell you whether the charge was later dismissed, reduced, amended or resolved through conviction or acquittal.
Use the sheriff arrest search to understand the arrest or detention record as it was recorded at that stage.
Use the Lee County Clerk’s criminal court search to review docket activity and available case information.
Recheck the sheriff database or contact corrections instead of relying on an old screenshot or third-party page.
What if you are looking for a Lee County warrant?
A warrant search is a different task from a jail-booking search. The Lee County Sheriff maintains warrant-related information separately from the arrest-search workflow.
View the Lee County Sheriff wanted-fugitives page for published wanted-person information. For a specific legal status question, verify through the responsible agency or court.
Lee County booking-search troubleshooting
Try a shorter name search, verify spelling, check whether the arrest occurred in Lee County, and consider whether the booking is too recent to appear or belongs to another agency.
Compare date of birth, booking number, dates and other identifiers. Never select a person based on name or photograph alone.
There can be a delay between arrest and court-system entry. Recheck the Clerk search later or contact the Clerk if the case cannot be located.
The Clerk notes that some older records may not be available through the online viewing system and may require a records request.
Verify against the responsible official agency before relying on it. The sheriff itself advises users to verify information obtained from the arrest-search site.
Can a Lee County arrest record be removed from the sheriff website?
The official Lee County arrest-search page includes a route explaining how an arrest record may be removed from the sheriff website. Removal from a website should not be confused with sealing, expungement or changing the underlying court record.
If you are trying to correct or remove information, use the sheriff’s official removal guidance and separately check the Lee County Clerk record so you understand which record is being addressed.
