Find Recent Lubbock County Mugshots, Bookings and Jail Records
For a person who may currently be in the Lubbock County Detention Center, start with the Sheriff’s official Active Jail Search. It allows searches by name, booking number or Sheriff’s Office number, giving you a direct way to confirm custody before moving to bond or court records.
A booking photo, arrest entry or jail charge records an allegation and detention event. It does not establish guilt or show the final result of a criminal case.
Start with the official Lubbock County jail search
The Sheriff’s Office directs the public to its Active Jail Roster for people currently in jail. If you already have a booking number or SO number, use it because those identifiers can separate people with similar names.
Official detention-center address: 3502 N. Holly Avenue, Lubbock, TX 79403. Sheriff-listed detention-center phone numbers: (806) 775-7009 and (806) 775-7048.
How to Search Lubbock County Mugshots and Jail Bookings
The fastest route depends on what you are trying to confirm. If the question is whether someone is in the county jail now, use the active roster first rather than starting with a general web search or an old arrest page.
What a Lubbock County Jail Record Can—and Cannot—Tell You
Jail-side information
An active roster is designed to answer custody questions. Depending on the individual record and current system display, it can help you identify the inmate, booking event, charges, bond information and current jail status.
Court-side information
The court record addresses what happens after the arrest, including case filings, hearings, dispositions and other docket activity that may not appear in the jail record.
| Question | Best starting source | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Is the person in jail now? | Sheriff Active Jail Search | Designed for current inmate lookup. |
| What booking identifiers were assigned? | Individual jail record | Booking and SO numbers help distinguish records. |
| Has a bond been set? | Online jail roster | The Sheriff says bond settings are updated after they are set. |
| What happened to the criminal case? | Court records | A jail record does not provide the complete court outcome. |
How to Check Recent Lubbock County Arrests
“Recent mugshots” can mean different things. Some people want bookings from today, while others want anyone who is still being held after a recent arrest. The Sheriff’s active roster is primarily a custody tool, so it should not automatically be treated as a permanent archive of every past Lubbock County mugshot.
Search the current jail roster and compare the booking date shown on the inmate record.
A person who has been released may no longer appear in an active-custody view. Court records or a records request may be more useful.
Do not assume an old booking will remain accessible through the active jail search. Use the responsible records office or court system for historical research.
Bond and Initial Appearance in Lubbock County
The Sheriff’s inmate FAQ says inmates can typically bond out after they have seen a magistrate. Initial Appearance is conducted at least twice a day and sometimes more often, and bond settings are updated on the online jail roster after they are set.
Posting the full bond
The Sheriff says a bond may be posted in full at the Lubbock County Detention Center Bond Window after the amount is set.
Using a surety company
A local surety company may post bond on someone’s behalf. The Sheriff notes that surety companies charge a percentage and may impose their own requirements.
Follow the Arrest with Lubbock County Court Records
Once you have confirmed the correct booking, move to the county court-record system when you need to understand the criminal case itself. Lubbock County’s services directory includes online access to court records, including criminal-case information where public access is available.
Use the booking identifiers you saved to avoid confusing people with the same or similar names. Court access may also depend on the type of case and whether a record is restricted, sealed or otherwise unavailable for remote public viewing.
Lubbock County Detention Center Visitation
The Sheriff lists visitation from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with the final visit scheduled to begin no later than 9:30 p.m. Visitors over age 17 must present an accepted government-issued identification document.
Before scheduling
- Create a public-user account with SmartInmate.
- Send a connection request to the inmate.
- Submit the required photo ID and a recent personal photo.
- Wait for facility approval before scheduling.
Scheduling rules
- Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.
- On-site visits are limited to one per person, per inmate, daily.
- Remote visits have a cost and must be scheduled by the user.
- Special Housing Unit visits must be arranged through jail staff.
For Special Housing Unit scheduling, the Sheriff lists 806-775-7019. Clothing rules, prohibited items and child-supervision requirements apply, so review the current official visitation instructions before leaving for the facility.
Sending Money for Commissary, Tablet or Phone Use
The Sheriff lists several different payment routes. Using the correct route matters because phone-only funds are not interchangeable with commissary or other inmate-account funds.
| Purpose | Method | Important detail |
|---|---|---|
| Commissary / tablet / general inmate account | Detention-center lobby kiosk | Cash deposits are accepted through the public kiosk. |
| Commissary / tablet / general inmate account | Access Corrections | Sheriff lists facility number 20172 and phone 1-866-345-1884. |
| Phone only | ICSolutions | Phone-only funds cannot be used for other inmate-account purposes. |
Mail and Messages for a Lubbock County Inmate
Regular inmate postal mail and legal mail use different addresses. Do not send legal documents to the regular scanning address.
Regular inmate mail
Lubbock County Detention Center
Inmate’s Name and SO#
PO Box 9136
Seminole, FL 33775
The Sheriff says the inmate name and SO number must be clearly printed on the outside of the envelope or postcard.
Legal mail and court documents
Lubbock County Detention Center
Inmate’s Name and SO#
PO Box 10535
Lubbock, TX 79408
The official instructions require a return address.
The Detention Center uses Smart Communications for electronic messaging. Messages sent through SmartInmate are delivered through the inmate tablet system and may involve a service charge.
Picking Up an Inmate’s Property
For someone who is still incarcerated, the Sheriff directs the person picking up property to the detention-center bond window. You will be asked to complete a form and present valid photo identification.
The inmate must authorize the release after reviewing the presented ID. The Sheriff says current-inmate property is generally released from the valuable-property bag on an all-or-nothing basis, subject to the facility’s stated exceptions.
If You Cannot Find the Person in the Lubbock Jail Search
Check spelling and name order. If available, search with the booking or SO number instead of relying only on a name.
Processing and roster publication may not be instantaneous. For an urgent custody question, call the Detention Center directly.
An active roster is not the same as a complete historical arrest archive. Move to court records or an appropriate records request.
The person may not yet have completed Initial Appearance or the bond setting may not yet be reflected online.
Stop and recheck identifiers. Never publish, share or act on a mugshot match based on the photograph or name alone.
