Search Arrest, Mugshot & Inmate Records by Name
Search by name and state for arrest, booking, mugshot, inmate, jail roster, prison, criminal and court-record search categories.
Independent records-search resource. This website is not a government agency, police department, sheriff's office, jail, prison or courthouse. Search coverage varies by source and jurisdiction. Some links may lead to third-party services, and compensation may be received when a partner service is used.
Find Beaufort Mugshots, Recent Bookings and Current Jail Records
For Beaufort mugshots and recent arrest information, start with the official Beaufort County Detention Center Inmate Inquiry System. It separates current inmates from recent bookings and releases and may display a booking photograph when one is available.
The official system is more useful than a copied mugshot page because it lets you check whether the person is still in custody, when the booking occurred and which charges are attached to that jail record. Court records should be checked separately when you need to know what happened after the arrest.
Start with the official Beaufort County search
Choose the route that matches what you are trying to confirm. The live county database shows its own update information, so check that timestamp before relying on a record.
Official county and court systems can change without notice. If a link or record appears unavailable, use the Beaufort County Government or Sheriff’s Office site to locate the current service.
Use more than a photo: match the booking details, then verify court and custody information separately.
Which Beaufort Booking List Should You Use?
The county does not force every search into one list. Its Inmate Inquiry System provides separate views for people who are currently held, people booked recently and people recently released.
| Route | Best for | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Current inmate population | Checking whether someone is presently listed in the jail | Name, booking date, charges and current listing |
| 72-hour bookings | Very recent arrests and “today’s bookings” searches | Booking date, photo if available and charge information |
| 90-day bookings | Recent arrests outside the short 72-hour window | Identity details and the broader booking history shown by the county |
| 15-day releases | A person who appeared in custody earlier but is no longer on the current roster | Release listing and corresponding booking details |
How to Search Beaufort Mugshots Step by Step
A safe search involves more than matching a face. Use identifiers from the county record before connecting a booking to a particular person.
What a Beaufort Mugshot or Booking Record Can Tell You
Booking information
The official inquiry system can show booking information, charges and a photograph when one is available. The page also displays when its data was last updated.
Custody information
The current-inmate view helps answer whether the person is presently listed at the detention center. Recent-release information helps explain why someone may no longer appear there.
Charge information
A listed charge reflects the booking or custody record. It should not be treated as the final disposition of the criminal case.
Booking photograph
A photograph may be displayed where available. Its presence confirms only that the image is associated with that booking record; it does not establish guilt.
Verify these details before assuming a match
- Full name and spelling
- Booking date
- Booking or inmate identifier, if displayed
- Charge description
- Arresting agency, when shown
- Current or released status
- County database update time
From a Beaufort Mugshot to the Court Case
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office directs people to the Beaufort County Fourteenth Judicial Circuit Public Index when they need case status after an arrest. The court system can be searched by name or case number.
Use the Inmate Inquiry System. This is the better route for current detention, recent booking and release information.
Use the Beaufort County Public Index. This is the appropriate next stop for case activity and court status.
Search court records. The Sheriff’s Office specifically points users toward the South Carolina Public Index for past arrests and related case information.

When to Check the South Carolina Department of Corrections
The South Carolina Department of Corrections inmate search is for people currently sentenced to and incarcerated in SCDC. It does not cover people released from SCDC, people sentenced to county detention facilities or people under parole, probation or other community supervision.
Use Beaufort County first
Use the county jail inquiry when you are researching a recent Beaufort County booking or present detention at the county facility.
Use SCDC for state prison custody
If the person has been sentenced or transferred into state prison custody, check the SCDC inmate search instead of assuming the county roster is incomplete.
Beaufort County Detention Center Contact and Family Information
The Beaufort County Detention Center is operated by Beaufort County Government. The county lists the facility at 100 Ribaut Road, Beaufort, SC 29902 and provides the main detention-center phone number as 843-255-5200.
Visitation
The detention center’s rules page directs visitors to register through IC Solutions and/or JailATM and notes that visitation times vary. Check the current county instructions before making plans.
Inmate money
The county says money may be sent by U.S. mail using a money order or cashier’s check. It also lists an online deposit option through JailPackStore.
Telephone calls
Housing units have inmate telephones. The county states that calls are subject to recording and monitoring and lists IC Solutions for telephone-account assistance.
Mailing an inmate
The county’s current rules instruct senders to use the inmate’s full name and ID number and send detention-center mail to:
Beaufort County Detention Center
Inmate’s Full Name, ID#000000
P.O. Box 16120
Jonesboro, AR 72401
Incoming non-privileged mail may be inspected for contraband. The county requires a full return address and places restrictions on oversized cards, perfumed letters, photographs and packages. Because mail vendors and facility rules can change, confirm the current instructions before sending anything.
Bond and First Appearance in Beaufort County
Beaufort County’s Magistrate Court states that bond hearings are held at the Detention Center twice a day. The county advises checking with the detention-center front desk for the time of a specific person’s hearing.
First appearance
The detention center’s published procedures state that a person charged with a crime should normally be seen by a judge within 24 hours. At that hearing, the judicial officer advises the person of rights, addresses bond and prepares an application for appointed counsel.
Posting bond
The county states that bonds for people held in the Detention Center must be posted there. Funds used to pay bond or eligible fines are deposited into the inmate account for the inmate to use for payment.
Custody Notifications for Victims
Beaufort County provides a VINE information page for victims who want automated notice of specified custody-status changes. The county states that eligible users may self-register for notification by phone or online.
Warrants, Incident Reports and Older Records
Active warrant questions
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office directs warrant-status questions to its Warrants Clerk at 843-255-3266 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Its non-emergency dispatch number is 843-524-2777 for after-hours contact.
Incident reports and FOIA
The Sheriff’s Office says incident reports from the previous 14 days may be inspected in person during its listed office hours. For reports older than 14 days, it directs users to submit a Freedom of Information Act request.
See the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office FAQ and records guidance.
Why You May Not Find a Beaufort Mugshot
The person may have been released. Check the 15-day release list and recent booking windows before assuming the record is missing.
The county jail inquiry is built around current and recent jail information. Use the Beaufort County Public Index for older criminal case research.
The official county description says photographs appear where available. A booking record can therefore exist even when a photo is not displayed.
If the person entered SCDC custody, use the state inmate search rather than the county jail list.
Try the full legal name and verify the booking date or other identifiers. Do not rely on name similarity alone.
Return to the official Beaufort County Government or Sheriff’s Office site and follow its current detention-center or inmate-search link.
